In-Flight Optimization

The best plan at take-off isn't the best plan at cruise

In-Flight Optimization keeps re-optimising the rest of every airborne flight in four dimensions against updated winds and weather, the range of how they may still change, and predicted congestion and capacity in the sectors ahead. Because Airspace & Flow Prediction forecasts congestion in the sectors ahead, it knows which reroutes and level changes ATC is likely to decline. When a better route, altitude or speed is available and acceptable, it shows the fuel, time and total cost impact (delays, overflight fees, missed connections and crew time included) and sends the recommendation to dispatch to approve. It works with plans from Air OS Flight Planning or your existing flight planning system, and shares the same operating picture as Flight Following.

01

Better after take-off

Better routes, levels and speeds found in the air, not only before departure.

02

Recommendations, not surprises

Every suggestion shows its fuel and time impact. Dispatch approves before anything changes.

Works with your planning system

Runs alongside Air OS Flight Planning or the system you already use, through modular APIs.

What's included

Improve flights already flying.
In one product.

Route re-optimisationShorter or more efficient routes found as conditions change en route.
Altitude & step climbsBetter cruise levels and step climbs found as winds change.
Speed & cost indexSpeed adjusted to your cost index and arrival targets.
Updated winds & weatherEach flight re-evaluated as new wind and weather data arrives, across the range of how it may still change.
Likely ATC acceptanceReroutes and level changes checked against predicted congestion in the sectors ahead, so you know which ones ATC is likely to decline before you ask.
Airspace & constraint changesEvery option respects current restrictions, reroute advisories and NOTAMs.
Fuel & time impactEach option shows the fuel, time and cost difference against the current plan.
Approve & sendDispatch approves a recommendation and sends it to the flight deck in one step.
Audit trailEvery recommendation, decision and outcome logged.
